The Fox and The Crow
Once upon a time, there lived a fox and a crow in a forest. The fox was very cunning and sly while the crow was quite clever.
One day the crow found a piece of cheese and flew up to a branch of a nearby tree to eat it. The fox saw this and wanted the cheese for himself. So he called out to the crow, “Oh, what a beautiful voice you have!
Can you please sing me a song?”
The crow was flattered and started to sing. As she sang, the cheese fell from her beak and landed at the feet of the fox. The fox quickly grabbed the cheese and ran away. The crow was left with nothing. She realized that it was her own foolishness that had caused her to lose the cheese.
From then on, she was careful to not let her pride get the better of her. And that’s why we say, “Pride comes before a fall!”
